Awaiting the January Gov's Proposed Budget for '10-11On Nov. 18th, the state's Legislative Analyst's Office announced their forecast of a $20.7 billion state budget deficit for 2010-11. This is a concern for schools statewide, since schools have already suffered such devastating cuts last year, including an 18% reduction in state funding (revenue limit). The next step in the budget development process for school districts, is the Governor's Proposed Budget in early January. Stay tuned and look forward to being part of a letter campaign, to our legislators, in January.Meanwhile the Legislative Team is planning Advocacy Day, our annual bus trip to Sacramento, to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 17th.
