Acalanes - Incoming Freshmen Information

posted Feb 12, 2012 4:40 PM by Stanley PTA Webmaster

Dear Parents of the Acalanes Class of 2016,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Acalanes High School Community and invite you and your child to the upcoming registration activities. We believe that your involvement in the registration process is crucial and hope we will have your full participation. Following are the registration events for the 8th grade students:

Monday, February 6 – Together with the counselors I will visit 8th grade students at Stanley Middle School.  We will distribute registration folders, review the registration process, and provide information about some of our curricular and co-curricular programs available to freshman.

Monday February 6 – Parent Information Night, Acalanes High School Gymnasium, 7:00 pm. Acalanes Staff will review the registration process and our curricular and co-curricular programs with the parents. We will address the challenges students face with the transition from middle school to high school. The evening will conclude with a question and answer session.

Monday, February 13 – Students will return the fully completed registration materials, including their course choices to Stanley office by 3:30 pm.

March 5 – 23 – Acalanes High School counselors will hold conferences with individual students and parents.

On Thursday, May 17 at 6:30 pm, Acalanes will host an Open House. We encourage you to come and see our school, view showcased programs and meet teachers, counselors and administrators.

The AUHSD residency verification process will begin in early August. The final step in the freshman registration process will be for you and your child to attend Dons’ Days, our walkthrough registration. At that time you will obtain class schedules and all other important information needed prior to the start of the school year. In order to support our freshman in their transition into high school, we will host a special orientation for new students. More information on residency verification, Dons’ Days, and freshman orientation will be available during the summer. The first day of school will be Wednesday, August 22.

We look forward to the arrival of the Class of 2016 and their contributions to our “Tradition of Excellence”.

Sincerely,

Aida Glimme, Principal
