(formerly known as International Week) The Foreign Language teachers at Stanley are excited to celebrate International Awareness in a new way. This year, International Events are being held throughout the second half of the school year, instead of having all the events in one week. We hope that students, parents, and faculty will be able to enjoy each activity more! International Concert February 29th Wednesday 7:00pm gym All students taking a foreign language class will perform songs in their language of study. The evening will be entertaining and fun for all. Parents and guests are invited! The Foreign Language Department hopes to add a cultural dance element to the concert (not a paid performance!). Hunger Luncheon April 18th Wednesday at lunch Students will purchase tickets to participate. The Hunger Luncheon teaches students about the world’s hunger problems. Proceeds are donated to the Food Bank. International Faire May10th Thursday 7:00pm gym Students will prepare a booth related to their culture. Demonstrations are encouraged. Food from each culture will be prepared and served by students and parents. The Faire will be held in the gym to give us more space! International Student Day May 17th Thursday, throughout the day Students who have had international opportunities will speak to classes regarding their experiences. We will be asking for student and parent volunteers to make each of the events a success. More information to come. Mark your calendars! |
